Navigating the grim intersection of digital creator culture, predictive betting markets, and human tragedy.

On Sunday, influencer Amanda Hirsch—the creator behind the popular “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, who also hosts Hulu’s “Get Real” podcast—addressed the uproar about having posted partner content with the betting platform Polymarket over the Lindsay Clancy verdict. In a since-deleted post from Friday, after the judge in the case had declared a mistrial following grueling deliberations, the crossover of courtroom verdict tracking and monetization drew immediate, widespread condemnation.

“Posting about the Lindsay Clancy trial in the same breath as a brand partnership was completely insensitive, wrong and out of character for me,” Hirsch shared in a statement, admitting that she should have known better and felt sick over the lapse in judgment.
